48' Defever OFFSHORE CRUISER

  • Year: 1990
  • Asking: $279,000
  • Located in FL
  • Hull Material: Fiberglass
  • Engine/Fuel Type: Twin Diesel
The DeFever 48 could well be the most seaworthy and sea kindly boat of its size. The 48 combines the popular 44 style interior layout with the superior 49 RPH hull. The hull is solid fiberglass semi-displacement with a long keel and hard chines. Unlike their 44 cousins, 48 DeFevers are 3 stateroom, 2 full head boats. Like the 44, they feature a spacious salon, galley up, quiet aft queen walk around master stateroom and large fly bridge. This yacht is the newest and arguably the best example of this design on the market today. It is reliably reported that previous owners took her trans-Atlantic on her own bottom. Her current owners have cruised her extensively from the Chesapeake to the Caribbean. She has been constantly maintained and upgraded by the current owners. To help reduce maintenance and give the boat a cleaner look, the rub, cap and hand rails have all been painted with Awlgrip, no varnishing! The bottom was last painted in October, 2008. This boat is in excellent condition, in steady use, never laid up with the present owners, fully equipped and ready to go. At her last survey in August, 2007, the surveyor wrote “interior and exterior condition of this vessel is, in my opinion, exceptional for a used boat, and could be considered in like new condition
